JinkoSolar seals 2,750-MW solar panel deal with NextEra Energy

JinkoSolar, a leading solar module manufacturer, has signed a 2,750-MW solar panel supply deal with NextEra Energy, the world’s most valuable utility company, JinkoSolar has announced in a statement.

The 2,750-MW supply deal ranks as the largest single solar panel supply deal in history, the company noted in its statement.

As the world’s most valuable utilities company with market capitalization of over 73 billion USD, NextEra Energy operates approximately 47,000 megawatts of net generating capacity and employs approximately 14,000 people in 33 states in Canada and the USA.

NextEra Energy is a global leader in renewable energy and has plans to own 7,000 MW of solar and wind generation capacity by 2020.

JinkoSolar provides a combination of state-of-the-art solar technology, high-quality products, localized service, and supreme project bankability.

The joining of two major renewable companies not only has further enhanced the position of both parties in the solar industry, but, in the long run, will lead to lower cost of production and, subsequently, generate greater customer demand for stable and reasonable energy prices, the JinkoSolar statement noted.

The partnership between the two leaders of the industry enables highly visible synergies and creates win-win situation, enabling the continued sustainable growth of both parties, the statement stressed.

“As NextEra Energy continues to invest heavily in new solar projects across the country, we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to buy cost-effective, reliable solar panels made here in America. JinkoSolar shares our commitment to delivering affordable clean energy solutions,” said Jim Robo, NextEra Energy’s chairman and CEO.

“To us, this partnership with NextEra is not about the large quantity of the order. Instead, what we value more about this arrangement is the long- term relationship we will established with an important partner. JinkoSolar’s products and technologies have withstood the test of time. The company has also realized continued growth. After becoming the world’s largest solar module manufacturer with 6.65 GW of module shipments in 2016, we continued to grow in 2017 by achieving a growth rate of 47% and shipping over 9.7 GW of modules,” noted JinkoSolar CEO Kangping Chen when asked to describe the significance and reasons behind the deal.

“Considering that the US is one of our most important markets, the company highly values the development of long-term strategic partnerships in the US. This partnership with NextEra is built upon a mutually shared vision and management belief in sustainable development. The high bankability of the JinkoSolar products, superior JinkoSolar service, and esteem industry reputation was a foundational catalyst to this partnership,” the JinkoSolar CEO added.

JinkoSolar completes giant Turkish solar farm with Asunim

JinkoSolar, a global leader in the solar PV industry, has completed its development of a solar power plant in Manisa, west Turkey, the largest such facility in the wider region, in cooperation with Asunim Turkey, a leading PV project developer and EPC company, JinkoSolar has just announced in a statement.

Asunim is currently one of the leading EPC companies in Turkey and has so far completed projects of 140MW.

The dedicated international engineering team of Asunim has a long track record of successful systems design and implementation, using cutting-edge 3D modelling and simulation software to correctly detail extremely important shading and counter slope calculations, JinkoSolar noted in its company statement.

The Manisa solar power plant consists of two separate sites with a total production capacity of 40.3 MW. One unit offers 19.7MW and the other 20.6 MW. The systems feature JinkoSolar high-efficiency (PID free) solar modules and REFUsol 40K string inverters operating without the need for fan cooling and with full IP65 protection against humidity and dust.

The German company Solar-Log was chosen for the project’s SCADA system. Operation and maintenance activities will be covered by Maxima Energy, an affiliated but independent O&M Company of Asunim.

“Installing a project on a flat terrain is easier when compared to sites with different slopes. In order to get the highest yield several different studies and calculations were made for this challenging project,” noted Umut Gürbüz, managing partner of Asunim Turkey.

“We are extremely pleased to see this contract as an outcome of our steadily growing successful partnership with Asunim Turkey over the last years. Asunim Turkey, as a trusted local partner, shares and follows the same highest product and service quality levels that we also apply at JinkoSolar, globally, which makes us stronger and helps us maintain our leadership position in the market,” remarked  Gener Miao, Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing of JinkoSolar.

EuPD Research awards JinkoSolar ‘Top Brand PV’ seal

JinkoSolar, a global leader in the solar PV industry, was awarded the Top Brand PV seal in the German, Austrian and Australian markets by EuPD Research, Europe’s leading sustainability research firm, JinkoSolar has announced in a statement.

The Top Brand PV seal is awarded based on survey responses from close to a thousand installers and intermediaries in markets with mature residential and commercial rooftop PV sectors.

Participants of the survey rated JinkoSolar positively on aspects such as brand awareness and brand management. JinkoSolar is also ranked among the top module manufacturers based on recommendations from Australian, German, and Austrian PV installers who responded that they are highly likely to recommend JinkoSolar to their customers.

“I am particularly pleased that JinkoSolar has received the PV seal for the German and Austrian markets, which I believe demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy to position Jinko as the leading module supplier in the European distribution market. JinkoSolar’s broad product portfolio, together with our superior service and product quality, are the reason why our steadily growing client base recommends us to their customers,” Frank Niendorf, JinkoSolar General Manager Europe, explained.

“We’re extremely honored to be named as one of the top PV brands in Australia, Germany, and Austria. The seal is a testament to the quality of our modules and strong market reputation” Gener Miao, JinkoSolar Vice President of Sales & Marketing, noted. “This is a particularly noteworthy accomplishment, considering that the survey respondents are installers in mature distributed generation markets, where they’ve worked with a wide variety of modules and module brands and yet choose to recommend JinkoSolar,” Miao added.
