Greek industry paying dearly for natural gas, SVAP official notes

Greek natural gas prices for the industrial sector rank among the highest, lofty taxes being a key reason, a member of the Attica and Piraeus Industries Association (SVAP) has stressed at an industry conference in Athens.

The official, Dimitris Kolaitis, also noted that charges concerning the amortization of infrastructure investments cannot be maintained at steady levels during a time of reduced consumption amid the recession’s economic slowdown. Kolaitis called for the cost of infrastructure investments to be shared by all.
