Communist Party: The coalition government has the ‘confidence’ of pro-memorandum parties

The government may have lost the confidence of its parliamentary majority during the debate of the third bailout program last week, but it has secured the approval of the opposition parties, the Communist Party said on Monday.

“The SYRIZA-ANEL coalition may have lost the ‘confidence’ of its parliamentary majority which supports the government after the August 14 vote, but it has the ‘confidence’ of the parliament’s majority through the positive vote of New Democracy, PASOK and Potami,” the party said in a statement, commenting on the possibility of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras asking for a confidence vote.

The Communist Party said the point is for people to lift their confidence of all the pro-bailout, pro-EU parties which “brought about today’s barbarism” and to trust the Communist Party.
