Athens court rejects ELPE effort to stop Energean survey

An Athens Court of First Instance has rejected charges filed by ELPE (Hellenic Petroleum) against Energean Oil & Gas over seismic surveys conducted by the latter in the Prinos offshore area, northeast Greece, the defendant has announced in a statement.

ELPE took legal action in mid-July seeking to have Energean’s seismic survey work conducted in the area stopped, information gained confiscated, and processing of data interrupted.

“The rejection of charges filed by ELPE against our company is obviously not a reason for celebration but deep concern for all parties interested in developing hydrocarbons exploration in our country,” Mathios Rigas, Chairman and CEO of Energean Oil & Gas, noted.
