RES capacity for interconnected system steady in September

Renewable energy source (RES) total capacity for the interconnected system remained unchanged in September, according to data released today by LAGIE, the Electricity Market Operator.

Wind-farm capacity remained steady at 1,594.52 MW, small-scale hydropower plants registered 219.84 MW, biomass-biogas capacity was 47.19 MW and combined heat and power (CHP) capacity registered 99.07 MW.

Interconnected photovoltaic capacity rose slightly in September to 2,079.46 MW from 2,078.97 in August.

Contracted roof-mounted photovoltaic total capacity remained unchanged at 3,080 MW.

Marginal changes were registered in roof-mounted photovoltaic capacity, both interconnected and non-interconnected.

According to the latest LAGIE report, interconnected roof-mounted photovoltaic capacity rose marginally to 350.24 MW in September from 350.16 MW in August.

Likewise, non-interconnected roof-mounted photovoltaic capacity rose slightly to 24.15 MW in September from 24.11 MW in August.
