Venizelos holds ‘friendly’ and ‘positive’ meeting with Papandreou

Deputy prime minister and current PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos met with former premier George Papandreou in Athens on Thursday.

As Kathimerini reports, talking to the press following the meeting which lasted for one hour and 40 minutes, Venizelos described the discussion as “friendly” and “positive.”

According to Venizelos they two discussed international affairs, the economy, negotiations with the country’s creditors over the bailout as well as PASOK, the socialist party previously led by Papandreou and founded by his father, Andreas Papandreou.

Venizelos was expected to meet with former premier Costas Simitis on Friday.
