Varoufakis to meet OECD’s Gurria in Paris on Wednesday

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis will meet with Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Angel Gurria in Paris on Wednesday afternoon, the finance ministry announced.

Varoufakis and Gurria will discuss a wide range of issues which include reforms on product markets, in retail, construction, banking, one-stop shops, labour market, State commissions and mechanisms to battle corruption.

According to the ministry, given the government’s desire for deep reforms in cooperation with international institutions that have the expertise and capability to monitor their implementation and who are helping the government’s reform policy, the meeting of the minister with the secretary general takes place at a crucial time in the reform path of the country.

Varoufakis will stop in Paris on his way to Luxembourg, where the Eurogroup will convene.
