Tender winner for geothermal exploration loses rights

Renwable energy source (RES) company Eoliki Koryfaou SA, winner of a tender for the right to explore and exploit the Nestos River delta area in northeastern Greece for geothermal energy potential, has had its rights revoked following the company’s failure to sign the tender’s lease agreement, the Environment, Energy & Climate Change Ministry has announced.

The company will also need to pay 5,000 euros to the Greek state for its participation in the tender, it was announced.
