“Diesel has exceeded 2 euros per litre and is now even more expensive than unleaded petrol,” main opposition SYRIZA Progressive Alliance deputy responsible for development and investments Alexis Charitsis said on Monday in a post on Twitter, citing the Ministry of Development’s Price Observatory.

Charitsis stated that “the effects on product prices will be severe” and stressed that “the government’s decision to stop the subsidy will have significant cost.”
