Subsidy support worth €6 per month for households with fixed tariffs

The energy ministry is proceeding with an additional electricity subsidy support plan covering low-voltage consumers opting for fixed tariff supply agreements between September and December, according to a letter forwarded by energy minister Kostas Skrekas to suppliers.

This subsidy plan, coming as an addition to a wider support plan for consumers, struggling against sharply risen energy costs, will be worth 20 euros per MWh of electricity consumed, which is estimated to work out to 6 euros per month for households.

Suppliers will need to factor in these new subsidies into electricity bills issued from November onwards, the ministry has instructed.
