Six candidates in tender to lease smelting plant and mines in Larymna

Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund S.A. (HRADF) on Monday announced that six interested parties have submitted expressions of interest for the lease of the Larymna smelting plant, the Larymna and Loutsi mines and relevant mining rights and other assets owned by the Hellenic Republic.

Expressions of Interest were submitted by the following Interested Parties (in alphabetical order):

1) COMMODITY & MINING INSIGHT IRELAND LIMITED
2) GEK TERNA S.A. – AD HOLDINGS AG
3) MYTILINEOS S.A.
4) SOLWAY INVESTMENT GROUP LIMITED
5) THARISA PLC
6) TRAFIGURA GROUP Pte Ltd.

HRADF’s advisors will evaluate the aforementioned expressions of interest and submit to the Fund’s Board of Directors their recommendation regarding the candidates that qualify for the next phase of the tender (binding offers phase). It is mentioned that HRADF, following the assignment by the Hellenic Republic, has launched an international tender in relation to: (i) the lease of the Larymna mine, i.e. the mining rights in Larymna along with the smelting plant, plots of land, installations and equipment thereon, owned by the Hellenic Republic and currently leased to “ LARCO General Metallurgical & Mining Company S.A.”(LARCO) and (ii) the Loutsi mine lease, i.e. the lease of the mining rights together with plots of land and installations thereon owned by the Hellenic Republic. In accordance with art. 21 of Law 4664/2020, on 23/11/2020, LARCO’s special administrator has published an Invitation to submit an expression of interest for the disposal of assets owned by LARCO through an international public tender process. This is a parallel but separate and independent process to the Fund’s tender.
