Renewable Energy Sources capacity, for interconnected system, steady in May

The total capacity of Renewable Energy Sources, for the interconnected system,  remained unchanged in May, according to an announcement by LAGIE, the Electricity Market Operator.

Wind energy facilities maintained a steady capacity of 1,540 MW, hydropower plants were unchanged at 220 MW, ground-level photovoltaic installations stood at 2,074 MW, rooftop photovoltaic systems operated at 350 MW, while biomass-biogas capacity registered at 47 MW.

The total amount of contracted photovoltaic capacity was 3,081 MW, compared to 3,080 in April.
