Panos Skourletis, the Production Reconstruction, Environment and Energy Minister under the recently resigned Syriza-led government, now awaiting the upcoming elections in search of a fresh four-year mandate, offered his backing to the Panhellenic Rooftop Photovoltaic Association at a meeting yesterday.
Skourletis and members of the association exchanged views on a decision implemented by a previous administration that led to reduced PV tariffs, well below agreed levels, for small-scale domestic producers, while reinforcing large-scale electricity producers and traders.
Skourletis told association members their actions taken to protest against the policies are justified.
Strengthening the standing of household PV producers constitutes a key and necessary part of the Syriza party’s national energy strategy, Skourletis told the association’s representatives.
