PPC, seeking greater efficiency, to upgrade information system

The main power utility PPC is planning to upgrade its exisiting sales and information system, a key reason being its effort to distinguish non-punctual customers suspected of being able but not willing to cover electricity bills from customers truly unanble to pay bills.

PPC has just announced a tender budgeted at 762,000 euros as part of the utility’s effort to upgrade its existing SAP IS – U industry specific sales and information system. Bidders face a February 1 deadline to submit their offers.

The utility’s exisiting SAP IS – U sales and information system was introduced in June, 2015, to facilitate PPC’s low, medium and high-voltage electricity bills and also provide required information.

However, it needs to be upgraded to meet new requirements being generated by intensifying market competition, frequent regulatory and legislative revisions, and a demand for the swifter provision of information to municipalities, ministries as well as other agencies for resolving issues and shaping new policies.
