PPC offers 10% discount to punctual professional consumers

PPC, the main power utility, will offer ten percent tariff discounts to professional medium-voltage and low-voltage connections, noting the offer is being made to confront an alarming unpaid overdue bills amount owed to the utility by consumers, now at 2.3 billion euros, the corporation’s board decided on Tuesday.

The discount offer will apply to consumers belonging to the aforementioned categories as long as they do not owe any outstanding amounts to the utility, as well as to consumers of these categories servicing payback programs for arrears as scheduled.

Even though the board at PPC has refused to admit it, the underlying reason for the discount offer is believed to be linked to the utility’s loss of important market shares. PPC has lost 20 percent of its commercial and industrial customers in the medium and low-voltage categories.
