Power companies are also victims of the pandemic, Hatzidakis says

“We should not forget that the power companies from which we are seeking facilitations are also victims of the crisis,” Environment and Energy Minister Kostis Hatzidakis said on Wednesday, speaking to MEGA TV.
“PPC and the other suppliers have seen their revenues dropping due to the pandemic and if we adopted the proposals for payment suspension they would be led to collapse,” he added, and reiterated his commitment that the poor will not be left without electricity and that the strategy for bad payers will continue to be strict.
The minister said that at this phase “it is impossible to leave the country without electricity and natural gas,” adding that there are regulations, sucn as the guarantee scheme, for a continuous energy supply.”
