Mitsotakis: Government ‘incapable of serving nation’s interests’

Main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis attacked the government on Sunday, while commenting on the rally over the FYROM name issue held in the northern Greek city of Thessaloniki, saying that it was “incapable of serving the nation’s interests”.
Mitsotakis remarked on the “impressive participation in the rally,” which he said indicated the “society’s especially great sensitivity to the issue of Skopje’s name.”
“I respect and share this sensitivity. Nor can a few extreme elements mar the nature of this great popular demonstration,” he added.
According to ND’s leader, the rally had both expressed the people’s frustration with a government that “acting in secret and which, through its actions and omissions, showed itself incapable of serving the nation’s interests.”
