HEDNO, the Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator, locally acronymed DEDDIE, has strengthened its representation at Eurelectric, a sector association protecting the electricity industry’s needs at a pan-European level, following the election of one of the operator’s top officials, Sofia Politopoulou, as President of the Distribution Regulation & Policy Working Group at the European body.

An electrical engineer, Politopoulou, HEDNO’s director for sector regulatory matters, has served as an administrative official of the main power utility PPC corporate group since 2008.

The Distribution Regulation & Policy Working Group at Eurelectric, comprised of Europe’s electricity distribution network operators, studies and proposes policies and practices for optimal regulatory frameworks based on sustainable solutions.
