Greek government dismisses early elections scenarios

The government on Monday dismissed the early elections scenario that German newspaper Bild reported, noting that the “best answer to such scenarios is the popular legitimacy that the government’s policy enjoys.”

Government sources said that “we continue seeking a mutually beneficial solution, respecting the people’s mandate and letting others working on whichever scenarios make them feel better.”

Bild on Monday, citing sources, reported that the Greek government was considering the possibility of new elections depending on the result of the negotiations with the lenders and with an aim of securing the absolute parliament majority.
