Greek FinMin insulted by anarchists at restaurant in Athens

Finance Minister of Greece, Yanis Varoufakis and his wife were insulted by anarchists during they were taking a dinner in the Exarchia area of Athens.

According to the minister, neither he nor his wife have suffered any injuries as the crowd apparently had no intention of physically attacking them. “Despite any speculations, it was neither a planned  attack or otherwise attempt to seriously injure, nor a provocation  as part of the recent policy against me,” said the politician.

“Their purpose, I think, was not physically attack us, because if they wanted to injure me, they had every chance as they outnumbered us. I think they wanted to force me to escape,” Varoufakis said.

The Greek minister said that the incident reminded him of early 2000, when he resided and taught in the area and experienced similar insults from the anarchists.
