Greek exports to Turkey increase by 20 pct

Greek exports to Turkey increased to 350.71 million euros in May, up by 20 pct compared to May 2013, according to the Greek Embassy in Ankara. Turkish exports to Greece in May 2014 recorded a milder increase of 8 pct, having risen to 94.1 million euros.

According to AMNA citing the Greek Embassy, the rise of Greek exports to Turkey was caused by a significant increase of Greek oil product exports, which accounted for a very high share (85.7 pct) of the total Greek exports to Turkey for May 2014.

Apart from oil products (300 million euros), Greece mainly exported to Turkey plastic products (15.3 million euros, 4.5 pct share), cotton (14.2 million euros, 4 pct share), aluminium (5 million euros, 1.4 pct share), boilers and machinery (5.1 million euros, 1.4 pct share).
