Greek current account deficit widened in January

Greece΄s current account deficit widened by 511 million euros to 847 million euros in January 2015 compared to the year-ago period, the Bank of Greece announced on Monday.

This development reflects an increase in the goods and services deficit and a decrease in the surpluses of the primary and the secondary income accounts. The services surplus did not show any significant change.

At the end of January 2015, Greece’s reserve assets stood at 5.9 billion euros, compared with 4.6 billion at end-January 2014.
