Greece dominates the eurozone summit

Eurozone member states on Tuesday are waiting for the Greek proposals in order to discuss a new aid programme for Greece.

A Eurogroup meeting has been scheduled for 14:00 (Athens time) and an emergency eurozone summit for 19:00.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is heading to Brussels to participate in the summit.

“The Eurogroup is waiting clear reform proposals from the Greek side, in the framework of the ESM, and taking into account the country’s new financial situation,” according to eurozone sources.

In the eurozone summit, that will also be attended by ECB president Mario Draghi and Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem, officials will discuss the actions to be taken after the referendum.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande in a joint press conference on Monday left open the door for negotiations, urging the Greek government to promptly submit “serious” and “specific” proposals in order to reach an agreement.
