EU Commission says IMF “fully participating” in Greek programme

The IMF is present and fully participates in the negotiations for the third programme, European Commission deputy spokeswoman Mina Andreeva said on Friday.

Asked about the non-participation of the IMF in the Greek programme until the necessary measures for debt relief are taken, she said that it is clear that the IMF has different procedures and timelines and this is reflected in the agreement of July 12 summit. However, she underlined that this is fully compatible with the European agenda, that is first to agree on the new program of ESM, including the IMF expertise, and then examine the measures for the Greek debt.
