The Environment, Energy & Climate Change (YPEKA) Minister, Yannis Maniatis, has forwarded, for public consultation, a letter on the subject of state-aid guidelines in the fields of environment and energy, from 2014 to 2020.

Smooth, distortion-free functioning of the market stands as a key priority for the European Union, Maniatis noted in the letter. The minister noted that the European Commission intended to adopt a common approach concerning the reviewing of various guidelines and frameworks, based on aspects such as the market’s strengthening and increased effectiveness of public expenditure through better contribution of state aid to objectives of common interest.
