BoG: Deposit outflow situation in Greek banks is under control

The Greek central bank said that in relation with press reports (that have reported significant deposit outflows in recent days), the deposit outflow situation in Greek banks is under control.

BoG and ECB are closely monitoring any developments and will take action whenever it is deemed necessary.

The central bank said that the ECB has been offering credit facilitation to countries that were on a fiscal adjustment programme since 2010, a policy which is not affected by political developments, while press reports that relate the elections with such credit facilitation have nothing to do with reality.
