The amount of 286.6 million euros was paid in July 2018 for state arrears to the private sector, for outstanding tax refunds and for payment of outstanding pensions, according to the State General Accounting Office.
More specifically, 67.8 million euros was spent on pending pensions. Repayment of state arrears to the private sector amounted to 72.3 million euros, while 146.5 million euros was paid for outstanding tax refunds.
State arrears to the private sector amounted to 1.934 billion euros in July compared with 2.018 billion euros in June, while outstanding tax refunds amounted to 790 million euros in July compared with 706 million euros in June.
