ΙΟΒΕ: Greek Economic Sentiment Indicator falls in December

The Greek think tank, IOBE, announced that the Greek Economic Sentiment Indicator deteriorated in December 2014 to 98.9 in December vs 102.7 in November and 102.2 in September, due to worse expectations in the retail trade, industrial and services sectors, as well as lower consumer confidence, while only the expectations in the construction sector showed improvement.

The decline in the economic climate index is attributed to the political uncertainty ahead of the possibility of early general elections.

Also IOBE stated that the economic climate index averaged at the highest level of the last six years in 2014, reflecting the stabilization of the economic growth.
