PM Tsipras departs for Rome

The European leaders will gather on Saturday in Rome to decide the next steps of the European structure which celebrates its 60-year anniversary.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras departs for Rome on Thursday to participate in the summit having already expressed his positions. “We will either seek the social contract or we will reproduce divisions.”

The answer for Greece is obvious.

The dilemma is whether EU countries will regain the social contract and social acquis or if they will remain stuck in racist slogans, Tsipras told German Vice Chancellor and Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel during their meeting at the Maximos Mansion in Athens on Wednesday.

In the evening, the prime minister will speak at an open event “Transform Europe Network” at the University of Rome.
