NBG head Katseli: Mass real estate confiscation is against bank’s interests

The head of the Hellenic Bank Association and National Bank of Greece governor Louka Katseli on Tuesday expressed optimism over the successful recapitalization of the National Bank of Greece (NBG).

Addressing the general meeting of the bank’s shareholders, Katseli said there are good prospects amid strong interest and added that after the recapitalization, National Bank will be stronger than ever and ready to play a leading role in channeling liquidity into the real economy.

She also referred to the big challenges for the bank, that is the return of deposits and the dealing with bad loans.
