The coalition government failed to muster the required support of 180 MPs for its presidential nominee as only 168 voted in favor of Mr Dimas, similar to the 2nd voting. 

According to the Greek constitution, parliament must be dissolved within the next 10 days and the country will hold national elections. The Greek PM following the voting yesterday stated that elections will take place on January 25th.
