Eurogroup chief Dijsselbloem confirms meeting on May 24

The next Eurogroup will take place on May 24, Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem posted on his Twitter on Wednesday.
Dijsselbloem was speaking at the debating society Oxford Union.

“We don’t want to go back into crisis mode; it’s damaging for Europe and Greece. Let’s sort it,” he added.

“We don’t want to get rid of debt – no financial hair-cuts, but we want to look at ways to relieve debt,” he underlined.

Dijsselbloem admitted that Greece needs to take difficult measures. “I would never deny that. I defend what we are doing in Greece, they are hard measures but they need to happen.”
