East Med the focus of upcoming EU energy security conference

A number of key speakers, including top-level Greek, Cypriot and European Commission energy sector officials, will take part in an international conference, “2030 EU Energy Security: The Role of the Eastern Mediterranean Region” in Brussels on December 10.

The conference is being co-organized by Greek Energy Forum, an energy think tank, in collaboration with the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), the ESCP Europe business school’s Research Center for Energy Management (RCEM), and Natural Gas Europe, a sector engagement platform for European gas matters.

Besides Greece’s Environment, Energy & Climate Change Minister, Yiannis Maniatis, and his Cypriot counterpart, Giorgos Lakkotrypis, other key speakers at the conference include: Shaul Zemach, former Director-General at Israel’s National Infrastructures, Energy and Water Ministry; Peter J Mather, BP Group Regional Vice President for Europe and Head of Country, UK; Henri Malosse, EESC President; Dominique Ristori, European Commission Director General for Energy; Mathios Rigas, Energean Oil & Gas CEO; Rikard Scoufias, Country Manager, Greece, TAP; Charlotte Brandsma, Mediterranean Policy Program Coordinator, German Marshall Fund of the USA; and Costas Mitropoulos, Executive Director, PwC.
